Upcoming Performing Arts Offerings
Dive into the art of dance with professional dance artists!
Be sure to sign up for the DiRT & Glitter newsletter at the bottom of the page to be the first to know when you can save your spot in these amazing FREE experiences for youth in Del Norte & adjacent tribal lands!
Past offerings include: vertical dance camps, master classes, dance exchanges, community performances and more!
Check out the video from last year’s Redwood Dance Exchange, where youth dancers from Del Norte and Mendocino County in Northern California participated in the Redwood Dance Exchange. In this week-long exchange, they learned vertical dance among the redwoods, working together to create a final performance.
The Redwood Dance Exchange was part of DiRT & Glitter's Youth Art and Adventure Program, in collaboration with the Mendocino Dance Project, and was supported by the Yurok Tribe's Klamath Promise Neighborhood Initiative.
Music by Elle Jacot, Film by Frej Barty
Summer Youth Performance Internship
A PAID youth internship opportunity!
Learn the art of putting on and creating a professional performance—and get paid to do so! DiRT & Glitter is seeking youth dancers, choreographers, poets, musicians, singers and storytellers to join us in creating—and performing—an original production that we will share at our Redwood Roots community celebration in July*!
We will be hosting an audition on May 27 for performers to be part of our summer performance internship. Youth who are selected to join the internship will have a paid opportunity to sing, dance and perform at Redwood Roots, with mentorship from professional performers.
*Performances will take place on Sat. July 25 and Sun. July 26
Summer Youth Performance Internship Audition
Wednesday, May 27, 5-8 p.m. (call times: dancers 5, musicians & vocalists 6:30, poets & storytellers 7:30)
Del Norte High School Dance Studio (1301 El Dorado St, Crescent City, park in back parking lot)

To prepare for your audition:
There’s no need to register for the audition ahead of time.
We do ask, however, that if you would like to audition to contribute an original piece to our show in July, to come prepared with a 1-min piece of your work to share. Please note you do not have to have a piece of work prepared to audition and can do so without to be part of the overall cast.
If you have questions about the performance internship or audition, or if you live in the Klamath area and are in need of transportation to the audition, please email Lauren at info@dirtandglitter.org.
